The Friends of the North Merrick Public Library are dedicated to helping the library in many ways. The Friends play a major role in raising funds. In the past they worked to purchase the piano which attracts many performers of high calibre who give wonderful performances for the community. Various musical, educational and historical programs have been sponsored by the friends. Items for the Children's Department and chairs in the Adult Reference Department and computer tables have also been purchased by the Friends.

Being a Friend can mean giving contributions but, more than that, it is the giving of time to help with various library projects, such as participating in the Merrick Fair, hosting special events and being there when the library needs us.

Remember, Friends are just that -- Friends!
