Mission Statement

It is the mission of the North Merrick Public Library to maintain a cost effective, efficient and customer oriented library which can serve as a source of materials for obtaining basic authoritative reference information, and to provide materials, services, programs and facilities which allow opportunities for thoughtful opinion and constructive recreation for all members of the community.

SERVICES

Reference
Our Reference Librarians assist you in obtaining resources to fill your information needs.

Interlibrary Loans
If you can't locate your item at the NMPL, the reference staff will be glad to check if it is available from other locations.

Computers
In our reference room you have access to the Internet and Microsoft Office software, and can use more than ten online subscription databases for your research needs.

Youth and Young Adult
The library offers your children assistance in locating materials for their school assignments and reader's advisory service.

PROGRAMS

For Children
Preschool story times, after school snacks and stories, pajama story-times, crafts, concerts, educational and entertaining shows and activities.

For Young Adults
SAT Preparation Classes, Babysitter, and CPR-First Aid programs, Cartooning Workshops, and movies. Also Summer Reading Club Activities for both Children and Young Adult audience.

For Adults
AARP, Defensive Driving, crafts, cooking workshops, opera concerts, movies, book discussions, travel programs and bus trips.
